Happy New Year Everyone---

Guess this is the first Musings of the Century.  I apologize that the first one has hit on January 10th, but with the new look of  ECWNews.com and covering Guilty as Charged have been a little busy. I appreciate all of the emails wondering what was happening with the column.

- Thanks for all of the early interest in CyberSlam 2000. I’m flattered as to how huge it’s gotten over the years and its mentioned by some in the same breath of ECW institutions as “November to Remember”. The internet support has certainly been something that has taken ECW to the levels that it is with finally being on national television, doing six pay per views, the impending release of Acclaim’s Hardcore Revolution Video game and more in the year 2000. However, please wait until you see it here on ECWNews.com with the official announcement of when CyberSlam 2000 will be and where the Friday night show will take place. With this being the first CyberSlam of the next century, I’m working closely with ECW officials to make it the best one ever.

-               Another huge part of CyberSlam is the annual presentation of the ECWNews.com (nee Newsletter) Awards. This year out we’ve
implemented a new system of checking the results of the voting. Those of course being the Free Polls up on the site. We’re getting a
great response thus far and really want thank those that voted. However, we want to get the numbers up a lot more. There is major
media coverage of CyberSlam , so we want to get as many of you out there involved.

- One of the awards we’re closely following is the ECWNews.com Fan’s Choice Award. This is a brand new one for us. You’re voting on the person who gets you to go to an ECW show. Who is that superstar that you pay to see? Is it Rob Van Dam? Is it Sabu? Is it the Sandman? Francine? Raven? So far Mr. Pay Per View has been running away with it, so whomever your favorite is- get to the voting. You can go there and vote now or check the results out now at www.ecwnews.com/a992.html

- ECWNews.com has a new look for the new century. Vic Moreno did an outstanding job in the re-design and we like to think that now that the site has as its centerpoint- THE NEWS. Anytime anything is updated or added to the site, you’ll be able to see it there. Is there a new column or live event update, new pictures- up on the newsboard. Now, you can check out a feature one of two ways, either follow the link in the posting on the newsboard—OR, to the specific category that the new item shows up at. If you have any feedback- good or bad, we’d like to have it- send it to me at [email protected]. We have even more cool things in mind for the year 2000.

- The next century of Pay Per Views kicked off Sunday as ECW was Guilty as Charged at the Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham, Alabama. It was a good show from top to bottom. There were some technical problems for us this past weekend and we’d like to apologize for the lack of updates from the event. I was at the event live with our own Josh Hughes. Well,  for those of you who bought the PPV already knew that as from what I understand, we were both prominently seen in certain times of the show. Josh got some good pics of the event as well as some other shots of us hangin around Birmingham. We’ll get em too ya as soon as we can.

- ECWNews.com columnists will be checking in all week with their views on the big show, we invite you to check back during the course of the week and get their viewpoints on the events that took place in Birmingham. I’ll be back with my own as well as an ECW Arena preview later in the week.

- Before we wrap things up here this time out, I’d just like to publicly thank ECWNews.com’s Josh Hughes for his hospitality this weekend. It was a pleasure finally getting to meet him and his lovely girlfriend Kim. My thanks also to the fine folks at the Boutwell, Andy, Jim Flanigan and of course Monica and Cynthia at the Waffle House
